Brockport, NY – The indoor track and field teams finished up day 1 of regionals at Ithaca College with the men's team sitting in 12
th place and the women in third.
Men's Team:
Tyler Miller finished up day one in the men's heptathlon with 2381 points. Miller finished up in the shotput with a strong second place from a 10.68m throw.
In the men's long jump, Dennis Bobbitt clinched a third-place spot with a 7.05m jump also good for seventh all time. Collin Dicks took eighth at 6.65m, Gabriel Giannini finished 15
th at 6.47m, Howard Nix took 21
st at 6.32m, and Bryce Roberts finished in 25
th at 6.05m.
In the 5000m race, Patrick Klinger finished up in 15:28.89 good for an 11
th place spot.
In the first round of the men's 60m sprint, Derek Grimshaw finished up in 15
th at a mark of 7.02 seconds and Aaron Ottenwalder crossed the line shortly after at 7.03 seconds good for 19
th.
Women's Team:
Finishing up at 17
th and 18
th in the pole vault was Becca Brady clearing the pole at 3.17m and
Isabel Swyers also at 3.17m.
Taking a 16-year-old record in the women's distance medley relay and third in the meet was
Jaylah Cossin,
Marissa Wise,
Ethne Degan, and
Mia Vizcaino at a time of 12:04.89.
The women's 4x400 team consisting of
Alexis Rodriguez,
Monica Cammarota,
Courtney Bostic, and
Marissa Wise also took a school record finishing up at a quick time of 2:56.75.
Taking a strong first place in the women's long jump was
Sasha Schramm with a 5.67m leap also good for second all time.
Finishing up the day in 15
th in the shot put was
Rebecca Heuler with an 11.66m throw.
Trinity Dees took 25
thwith a 10.87m throw.
