Brockport, NY – The indoor track and field teams took on day 2 of the AARTFC Indoor Track and Field Championships today where the men finished up in ninth with 22 points and the women clinched a third-place spot with 30 points.
Men's Team:
Tyler Miller finished up the men's heptathlon with 4414 points. Miller competed in the pole vault and finished in a tie for second at 4.40m and placed sixth in the 1000m race at a time of 2:59.32.
In the men's triple jump, Dennis Bobbitt had a far jump of 13.85 meters good for a seventh-place finish. Thomas Fey finished up the day in 27
th at 12.89m.
Michael Durski had a quick time of 49.92 seconds in the 400m good for an eighth-place spot. Ayden Grinion crossed the line at 50.02 seconds good for 18
th.
Jonathan Zavala fought hard for a high second place finish in the men's 800m race crossing the line at 1:53.06 also taking his own previous school record. Owen Arbocus finished shortly after in sixth at a mark of 1:54.51. Connor Kerr took 25
th at a time of 2:05.16.
In the high jump, Cardin Chau placed ninth clearing the pole at 1.93m.
Michael Durski finished up the 200m sprint taking 14
th from a time of 22.38 seconds and Derek Grimshaw came in shortly after in 18
th with a time of 22.61 seconds.
Placing eighth in the men's 3000m was Patrick Klinger finishing in just 8:36.70.
Women's Team:
Taking sixth and seventh in the women's mile was
Jaylah Cossin with a time of 5:07.00 and
Mia Vizcaino making her mark at 5:07.80.
Marissa Wise had a day in the women's 400 finishing up in fourth at 57.71 seconds.
Alexis Rodriguez took 15
thin the sprint at 59.43 seconds.
In the women's 800m race,
Ethne Degan finished up in 16
th at a time of 2:21.78.
Sasha Schramm put a mark of 10.87m up on the board in the women's triple jump good for an 11
th place finish.
Alexis Rodriguez also took 26
th in the women's 200m sprint at a time of 26.46 seconds.
Julianne Wilson finished up in the women's 3000m in 21
st with a time of 10:48.63 and
Leah Lloyd took 25
th at 11:01.80.
In the women's weight throw,
Katrina Chandler finished up the day in ninth place from a 15.22m throw. Sarah Parr took 23
rd at 14.14m and
Lainey Porter took 26
th at 13.95m.
Up Next – Next weekend the NCAA DIII Indoor Championships are set to take place at Nazareth University on Friday, March 14
th and Saturday, March 15
th. Finalized decisions for national participants will be announced the Wednesday before.
