Brockport, NY – The women's lacrosse team preps for a busy week of conference games as they host SUNY Geneseo on Wednesday, April 2
nd at 4pm and SUNY Poly on Saturday, April 5
th at 1pm.
Last Week Recap – The Golden Eagles fought for a pair of wins last week against RIT at home and Hartwick on the road for the E8 Conference opener.
The team defended the home field against the RIT tigers taking the 13-11 win for the first of the season.
RIT opened the scoring book with a quick goal until
Alayna Foos followed suit with an unassisted goal. The Tigers added three more before
Sarah Kilburn found the back of the net from Foos.
Karaline McCarthy added one in to cut the lead down to one score at the end of the first.
The second quarter was also back and forth as RIT started the scoring yet again.
Tristan Davis put the ball in the net for her first of the day and RIT did the same quickly after. Before the end of the quarter,
Alayna Foos made her second of the day. Going into halftime, RIT had the 6-5 lead.
After halftime,
Paige Thowe tied up the game quickly with an assist from
Amanda Evans.
Tristan Davis took control and made two unassisted goals and
Alayna Foos added one more, putting the Green and Gold up by three. The Tigers added one more before
Karaline McCarthy snuck one last goal in with just a second left.
RIT attempted the comeback quick with a goal to start off the fourth.
Alayna Foos made an unassisted goal and RIT did the same.
Hailey Lewkovich found the back of the net for her first of the day from
Amanda Evans and
Sarah Kilburn added in a free position goal to go along. With just five minutes left, RIT increased the score by two but fell just short of a comeback.
On Saturday, the team started E8 play strong with a 17-5 win on the road at Hartwick.
Alayna Foos put up a goal to start the first quarter from a free position with Hartwick adding one in to tie it up early. The Golden Eagles took back control with a man-up goal from
Hailey Lewkovich, a goal from
Karaline McCarthy assisted by
Tristan Davis, and another unassisted score from Foos which put the team up by three at the end of the period.
The Green and Gold kept the momentum going by putting up four goals to start the second.
Amanda Evans put the first in from
Tristan Davis, and
Jazmin Medina did the same for her first of the season.
Tristan Davis added another from
Karaline McCarthy and
Paige Thowe shot a rocket in from Foos. Before the half, Hartwick halted the lead adding one more goal.
Coming back from the break, Brockport was up 8-2 and kept it going in the third, outshooting the Hawks 6-0.
Alayna Foos started off with an unassisted goal followed by
Karaline McCarthy putting one in unassisted and
Tristan Davis with a free position goal.
Amanda Evans also took a free position opportunity and scored and
Sarah Kilburn added another goal in just a minute later.
Amanda Evans finished out the quarter with another unassisted goal.
Hartwick started the fourth with a quick goal until Foos did the same shortly after. Hartwick found the bak of the net off a free position shot until
Amanda Evans kept the drive going for Brockport with a goal assisted by
Karaline McCarthy. Evans built on her total adding one more goal to the mix taking the Golden Eagles to 17, and Hartwick made one more with a minute left putting the team up to five.
A Look at Geneseo and Poly – The Knights are currently 4-5 overall in the 2025 season and 1-0 in conference play. Geneseo has had a four-game win streak in the past four matchups against Brockport since 2022.
SUNY Poly currently sits at 1-5 overall and 0-1 in conference play for the season. Saturday's matchup will be the first time the Wildcats and Golden Eagles will face each other.
Next Up – Brockport will be back on the road next week to Alfred University on Wednesday, April 9
th at 5pm and Utica University on Saturday, April 12
th for a 1pm start.
