Men's Lacrosse Celebrates Senior Day With 10-9 Win Over Utica

Brockport, NY- The Brockport men's lacrosse team notched a 10-9 senior day win over Utica on Saturday, April 12th. The Golden Eagles improved to 6-6 overall and 3-2 in conference play following the victory.
 
The Golden Eagles would snag three of the first four goals of the contest, with Nate Askin, Pierson Jacobs, and Marc Zappulla giving Brockport a 3-1 lead in the first.
 
Utica would control the remainder of the period, scoring the final three goals of the first to enter the second period up 4-3.
 
Brockport would answer right back in the second period, outscoring the Pioneers 3-1 to take a 6-5 lead into halftime.
 
Carson Colucci would net two goals in the period, with Daniel Wright burying a Hunter Riehlman feed to score his first of the afternoon.
 
Colucci would strike again coming out of halftime, scoring his third of four goals on the game to put Brockport ahead 7-5. Jack Rice would follow up with his first of two second-half goals to give Brockport a three-goal lead.
 
The Pioneers refused to back down, scoring three goals in just 90 seconds to tie Brockport 8-8 in the third.
 
Colucci would provide another clutch moment, scoring just six seconds removed from Utica's game-tying tally to put the Green and Gold up one entering the fourth.
 
Jack Rice would connect for Brockport's lone goal in the fourth, assisted by Nate Askin to take a two-goal lead.
 
Utica would find the back of the net with 1:23 left, but Jack Acker and Brockport's defense would hold on for the 10-9 win.
 
Carson Colucci would have a huge day, leading Brockport with four goals and five ground balls.
 
Jack Acker (W, 6-5) picked up the win, making five saves on the day.
