Box Score Brockport, NY – The women's lacrosse team traveled to Utica today and brought home a massive 20-9 win against the Pioneers. The Golden Eagles upped their record to 5-7 overall and 4-1 in the conference for the 2025 season.
Alayna Foos had an impressive day with seven goals, which is tied for second most in a single game in Brockport history. She added two assists for nine total points in the contest.
Karaline McCarthy also made strong plays finishing with four goals and one assist for five points, while also adding three groundballs.
Tristan Davis had three goals and an assist good for four points, and
Sarah Kilburn and
Paige Thowe both had two goals for two points.
Amanda Evans added a goal and an assist,
Journey Naab had one goal, and
Hailey Lewkovich had one assist.
Between the pipes for Brockport was
Arianna Reed making a total of eight saves on the day.
Utica brought the heat in the opening quarter with four goals in a row to start the game. Brockport stopped the bleeding starting off with a free position shot made by Davis. Foos took a man-up opportunity with an assist from Lewkovich and Davis added another on to the score shortly after. Kilburn found the back of the net with just 32 seconds left with an assist from Foos to tie the game 4-4.
The Green and Gold kept the scoring going with Davis opening with a free position shot yet again. Foos followed suit also putting the ball in the net from a free position and Utica added to their score the same way. Foos and McCarthy both had successful free-position goals taking the team to a three-point lead until Utica cut that to two with a man-up goal. Finishing out the first half was Naab sneaking the ball past the goalkeeper also with a man-up goal.
Coming back from the break, Brockport kept the momentum with two quick goals within the first two minutes from McCarthy assisted by Davis, and Foos from a free position. Thowe put her first of the game in the net with an assist from McCarthy, and Foos added another. Utica attempted a comeback with two quick goals until Foos halted that with an unassisted score. With just two minutes left, the Green and Gold added two more from McCarthy and Foos assisted by Evans.
In the fourth quarter, it was much of the same with Brockport keeping control. McCarthy had a successful man up, free position shot and Thowe also added in a man up goal. Shortly after, Utica found the back of the net until Kilburn did the same. Taking the Golden Eagles to their high score of 20 was Evans with an assist from Foos.
Coming Up – The Ladybros are back home next week as they host St. John Fisher on Wednesday, April 16
that 4pm and Russell Sage College on Saturday, April 19
th at 1pm where they will also be celebrating senior day.
