Brockport, NY – The women's lacrosse team is back home this weekend as they host No. 7 St. John Fisher on Wednesday, April 16
th at 4pm and Russell Sage College on Saturday, April 19
th where they will celebrate Senior Day starting at 12:40pm.
Last Week Recap – On Wednesday, April 9
th, the Golden Eagles brought home a huge 18-3 win against the Alfred Saxons and a 20-9 victory on Saturday, against Utica.
Team Leaders – At Alfred,
Alayna Foos cruised past the 200-point career milestone with four goals and two assists for six points ranking her eighth all-time in Brockport program history with 202 points.
Hailey Lewkovich brought the heat with a career-high of seven goals in a game.
Sarah Kilburn and
Paige Thowe tied for two goals and one assist for three points each, and
Amanda Evans and
Karaline McCarthy also tied for one goal and four assists.
At Utica,
Alayna Foos hit another milestone making seven goals, which is tied for the second most in a single game in program history. She added two assists for nine points total in the game.
Karaline McCarthy finished up the context with four goals and one assist for five points, also adding three groundballs.
Tristan Davis had three goals and one assist, and
Sarah Kilburn and
Paige Thowe both had two goals for two points.
Goalie of the Week – On Monday, April 14
th,
Arianna Reed was named the Empire 8 women's lacrosse goalie of the week following the two wins last week. At Alfred, Reed made a total of seven saves only allowing three goals against the Saxons. During the Utica matchup, Reed made eight saves contributing to the strong win.
Scouting Fisher & Sage – The St. John Fisher Cardinals currently have an undefeated record of 12-0 overall and 5-0 in the conference. The last matchup between the Cardinals and the Green and Gold resulted in a Brockport win of 12-9 back in 2022. The Cardinals took two victories in the 2019 season.
Russell Sage is currently 2-8 overall and 1-4 in the Empire 8 Conference. This will be the first time the Gators and the Golden Eagles are facing each other in women's lacrosse.
Up Next – Next week, Brockport will be on the road to Nazareth University on Wednesday, April 23
rd at 4pm and will be back home hosting Keuka College on Saturday, April 26
th at 1pm for the last E8 matchup before the Empire 8 Championships begin.
