Brockport, NY – The SUNY Brockport softball team has three Empire 8 doubleheaders on this week's slate. It starts at home on Thursday against Geneseo for a 3pm start to the set. The Golden Eagles will then head to Hartwick on Saturday (1pm) and Russell Sage on Sunday (1pm).
Last Time Out: Brockport got swept at home in a doubleheader against Nazareth last weekend. The Golden Flyers took game one, 17-3, and then finished the day off with a 10-2 win in game two. Brockport now stands at 10-18 overall with a 2-12 mark in Empire 8 conference play.
Winding Down: The 2025 softball regular season is beginning to slow down as the postseason quickly approaches. The Golden Eagles have six total games (3 doubleheaders) on slate for this week and just two more games next week (1 doubleheader) to finish the regular season. At 10
th in the conference standings heading into Thursday's set, Brockport is looking to climb up two spots to earn a spot in the postseason.
Swing Away Simone: Olivia Simone has continued her impressive season at the plate, leading the lineup in several offensive categories. She is batting .436 with a 1.103 OPS to lead the squad. Simone has also registered 41 hits, nine doubles, five triples, 26 runs scored, and 19 RBIs. Olivia currently ranks inside the Top 15 in the Empire 8 in nearly all hitting categories.
This Week's Competition: The Golden Eagles begin the week at home against a Geneseo squad that holds a 21-9 overall record to go with a 10-4 mark in the E8. Molly Griffin is the top threat at the plate for the Knights, batting .514 on the season so far.
On Saturday, Brockport travels to face the Hartwick Hawks for a doubleheader. The Hawks enter the weekend at 6-26 overall and 1-13 in conference play. Samantha Moore is the lone Hartwick batter above a .300 average, owning a .433 average so far this season.
Russell Sage will be the third and final matchup of the week for Brockport. The Gators currently have a 12-18 record overall to go with a healthy 8-6 mark in the Empire 8. They are currently on a 5-game win streak ahead of Saturday's doubleheader with Geneseo. Annalise Tyler leads the effort at the plate with a .436 batting average.
Regular Season Finale: Following the team's trip this weekend, Brockport will have just one final E8 doubleheader for the regular season. The squad will return home to face Houghton University on Tuesday, April 29
th. Game one of the set is scheduled for a 3pm start.
