Golden Eagles Finish Up Day 1 of Nationals, Heuler Takes 6th Place in the Javelin

Brockport, NY – Today, four of Brockport's outdoor track and field athletes competed in day 1 of the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships taking place in Geneva, OH. 

Rebecca Heuler competed in the javelin and made the podium from a sixth-place throw of 40.78 meters to finish out her 2025 season. Heuler had a strong last season with the Golden Eagles as a top thrower for Brockport with a multitude of top three finishes in the javelin throughout the season. 

Next up was Jonathan Zavala taking on the first round of the 1500m race where he finished in 10th place with a time of 3:53.38 moving him on to the final round taking place on Saturday. 

Ayden Grinion finished his 2025 season in the 400m hurdles taking 19th place and crossing the line at 54.78 seconds. Grinion was one of Brockport's top athletes in the 400m hurdles with multiple top three finishes over the course of the season and even finished with the school record in the event. 

Also taking on the 400m hurdles was Alexis Rodriguez. Rodriguez finished up the 2025 season in 10th place at a mark of 1:02.38. Rodriguez was also a top runner in the 400m hurdles for Brockport, finishing with a series of top three finishes and ended up with a second all-time finish in the record books.
