Looking Back at 2024: Last year the Golden Eagles worked for a 17-10 record overall and earned the No. 6 seed for the E8 Tournament with a 7-4 mark in the conference. A strong piece of the team's success was taking care of business at home, earning a 6-1 mark at The Vlog. Clinching a postseason berth for the 10
th season in a row (1
st time in the Empire 8), Brockport made the semifinals as a first year member of the Empire 8. The squad upset No. 3 seed Hartwick, 3-1, in the opening round before falling to No. 2 St. John Fisher in the semifinal round, 3-1.
All-Conference Returners: Brockport is fortunate to be bringing back three All-Conference players from 2024. This includes the 2024 E8 Libero of the Year,
Elsie Logan. Logan earned 1
st-Team All-Conference to go with the major award, as well as being selected AVCA DIII All-Region Honorable Mention.
Alenna Williamson was named 2
nd-Team All-Conference last season and earned a spot on the Empire 8 All-Tournament Team. Williamson was also recognized as 3
rd-Team All-Conference in the SUNYAC back in 2023. As a freshman,
Lauren Emke capped off her first year of collegiate play as a 3
rd-Team All-Conference pick.
Kaitlyn Jewett is the final returner with All-Conference accolades, earning a spot on the 3
rd-Team in 2023. All four will play a vital role this season for the Green and Gold.
Lots of Familiar Faces: In total, there are 14 returning Golden Eagles ready to roll for the new campaign. To go with the four All-Conference returning players, the team welcomes back seniors
Anna Cascapera,
Gianna Felipe,
Regina Salazar, and
Alexis Sison, junior
Maddy Howell, and sophomores
Kaylee Dickerson-Holly,
Ellie Cusmano,
Grace Ippoliti,
Lauryn Forand, and
Grace Letterman. The program did not graduate any seniors at the end of last season, meaning the 2024 roster is back in 2025 looking to build from last year's conference semifinals appearance.
Meet the Newcomers: While the Green and Gold is happy to retain most of last year's team for 2025, five new freshmen have been added to the fray. The incoming class of first years includes middle blockers
Ana Parella and
Delaney Yusko, outside hitters
Madisen Jones and
Luba Butcher, and setter
Ava Baty.
Third Year for Coach Clar: Head Coach
Jim Clar is going into year three leading the Brockport women's volleyball program after taking over in 2023. Clar has posted back-to-back winning seasons, which has included a 13-7 conference record across the SUNYAC (2023) and Empire 8 (2024). Under Clar, Brockport has been nearly perfect on its home court with a 13-1 mark at The Vlog. Additionally, he has led the Golden Eagles to a conference semifinals appearance in the postseason both seasons with the program.
