Women's Soccer Fights for 1-1 Draw at Skidmore

Saratoga Springs, NY – The Brockport women's soccer team opened up the 2025 season with a 1-1 tie on the road against Skidmore to start the year at 0-0-1.

Starting off hot was Skidmore with an early goal just 11 minutes into the matchup to open up the scoring book for the day. Lucy Crounse responded with Brockport's first goal of the season to tie up the game with an assist from Lavanya Upadhyay. The second period was a back-and-forth battle of shots, Brockport with six and Skidmore with five, but ended scoreless, resulting in the 1-1 draw. 

Emily McCane took the first shift in between the pipes for Brockport saving two shots. Brockport made the move to substitute Madeline McCrosson to finish out the game in goal, where she also put up two saves on the day. 

Amelia Breton, Lyndsey Miller, McKenna Slate, Megan Gates, Caitlin Nelson, Marisa Closson and Lucy Crounse fought to get their foot on the ball each with one shot on goal. 

Up Next – Brockport is back in action on the road Saturday, August 30th to face Oneonta starting at 1pm.
