Brockport, NY- The Brockport women's tennis team will host St. John Fisher at the Nest on Friday, September 19th, at 4 p.m. for an Empire 8 matchup.
Last Outing: The Golden Eagles are coming off a hard-fought outing, but ultimately came up short against Hartwick last Saturday. Brockport fell to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in Empire 8 matches following the loss.
In the first doubles match, Cara Vasile and Leah Banes put up a fight but fell 6-2. The Golden Eagles also battled in singles play, with Vasile losing in the first singles match (6-2, 6-0) and Erin McMichael suffering a (6-0, 6-2) loss in the third singles match.
Strong Pairings: Multiple Brockport doubles pairings have jumped out to excellent starts, posting undefeated records to begin the season. Cara Vasile and Olivia Raschiatore hold a 2-0 mark in first doubles action, with Olivia Chiu and Leah Banes posting a 2-0 record in second doubles matches. The duo of freshmen Gianna Masker and sophomore Kathleen Rodgers has thrived in third doubles, winning both of their matches (2-0).   Â
Scouting the Cardinals: St. John Fisher currently holds a 0-1 record on the season, having lost their home opener to Cortland, 3-4. The head-to-head series has seen the Cardinals and Golden Eagles split the last 12 matchups. Brockport will look to secure its first win over St. John Fisher since the 2021 season.Â
