BROCKPORT, N.Y- The Brockport Field Hockey team suffered a 9-0 loss at #21-ranked Ithaca College on Wednesday, September 17th. The Golden Eagles dropped to 3-2 following the loss.
The Bombers wasted little time getting on the scoreboard, with Mia Woodard scoring 5:06 into the first for the early Ithaca lead.
The second period would see Ithaca start to pull away, netting three goals in the period to take a 4-0 lead into halftime. The Brockport offense would start got in the period with a pair of
Elise Brady scoring chances, but the Golden Eagles would be unable to break through.
Despite six third-period saves, the Bombers would add to their advantage. Brenna Schoenfeld of Ithaca would secure the third period's lone goal.Â
Another four final-period goals would be more than enough for Ithaca, with the #21 team in the country cruising to a 9-0 win.
Lauren Mastromarco (L, 3-1) started the contest for Brockport, playing the first half and making 10 saves with four goals allowed.Â
Autumn Kramer put her body on the line, recording a defensive save in the contest.Â
Ithaca utilized a 27-4 shots on goal edge and a 16-3 penalty corner advantage to secure the victory.Â
