Brockport, NY – The Brockport Women's Soccer team secured a 1-0 victory at Allegheny on Wednesday, September 17th. The Golden Eagles improved to 3-0-2 on the season following the non-conference victory.
The first half was a back-and-forth battle with Allegheny taking control of the pace early, leading in shots with four compared to Brockport's two. The Gators also finished the half with the corner kick opportunities edge, with two compared to Brockport's one.
The Gators would generate two scoring chances in the opening half, but
Karissa Champion would keep the contest scoreless entering halftime.
Out of the halftime break, the Gators would continue to threaten, generating more scoring opportunities.
Karissa Champion would make two more saves in the second half, tying her career high of four.
Brockport continued to battle, leading to
Lyndsey Miller finding the back of the net with an assist from
Caitlin Nelson just minutes before the buzzer.
Allegheny yet again had control, taking 11 shots over the Golden Eagles' six, and both teams tied with four corner kick opportunities.
Cameryn Childs and
Ada Canzoneri also found their first minutes between the pipes this season. Childs made one save, and Canzoneri finished with two saves on the day. Canzoneri (W, 1-0) picked up the win, finishing the contest with a scoreless 10:58 of action.
Amelia Breton added two shots, and
Lyndsey Miller,
Diane Lange, and
Kaitlyn Spring all contributed a shot and shot on goal each.
