Brockport, NY – The women's soccer team traveled to Keuka College and brought home the 1-0 win against the Wolves. The squad is now 4-0-2 overall and remains undefeated in conference play at 2-0.
The Golden Eagles and the Wolves had a scoreless first half of competition, with Brockport handling the ball with control. The team had an impressive 11 shots over Keuka's four and added in three corner kicks next to the Wolves' one.
Just minutes after the halftime break,
Brianna Marino had a successful deflection to the back of the net off a corner kick from
Mackenzie Bieger, making it her first goal of the season for Brockport. The team added in four more corner kicks to their total in the second period and dominated in shots yet again, with a total of nine compared to Keuka's three.
Emily McCane started in between the pipes for the Golden Eagles making a total of two saves. The squad made the switch to
Madeline McCrosson for the second period where she made one save.
Amelia Breton led in shots with a team high of five and three on net.
Megan Gerber added in three with two on goal, and
Caitlin Nelson also contributed three with just one on goal.
Diane Lange and
Jordan Chizuk did their part and tied with two shots and one on goal.
Up Next – Brockport will be back home on Tuesday, September 23
rd and will host Fredonia for a 4pm start. The team will then head to Hartwick College on Saturday, September 27
th at 12pm.
