Box Score The Brockport women's tennis team traveled to Alfred on Saturday, September 27th, suffering a 6-1 setback to the Saxons in Empire 8 action. The team's overall record now stands at 2-5, with a 1-4 mark in E8 play.
In doubles action, Brockport earned one victory but was unable to claim the doubles point. The first doubles team of Olivia Raschiatore and Cara Vasile fell to Alina Zabihailo and Elizabeth Madsen, 3-6. Leah Banes and Olivia Chiu earned the hard-fought victory in the second doubles match over Alyssa Seegert and Becca Epping, 6-4, marking their fourth doubles win of the season as a duo. Kathleen Rogers and Gianna Masker were defeated by Allison Windisch and Alexis Gits in the third doubles, 4-6.
Alfred had a dominant outing in singles play, claiming five of the six matchups, though the Golden Eagles battled hard for every point.Â
Leah Banes secured her second victory of the day, which also marked her third singles win of the season, with a swift 6-2, 6-3 win over Alyssa Seegert in third singles action. This ultimately gave the Golden Eagles the lone point of the day.

Cara Vasile was defeated in a hard-fought, three-set battle in the second singles by Elizabeth Madsen (6-4, 3-6, 0-6).
Olivia Chiu was taken down in fourth singles by Becca Epping (4-6, 4-6), while Erin McMichael fell in a tough fifth singles contest to Allison Windisch with a tie-breaking first set (6-7, 3-6).
To close out the day, Madison Ballone was defeated in sixth singles by Alexis Gits (1-6, 1-6).
