ROCHESTER, N.Y- The Brockport Field hockey team came up short at #25-ranked Rochester, 3-0, on Friday, September 5th. The Golden Eagles fell to 2-1 on the season following the defeat.
Goalie
Katelynn Banning kept the Golden Eagles close throughout, making 14 saves on the day with just three goals allowed. In her first start of 2025, Banning set a new career high in saves and shots faced.
The Yellowjackets found the back of the net in each of the first three periods, with Erin Foley putting Rochester up 1-0 just 2:53 into the first.
The Brockport offense would come alive in the second period, registering three shots on goal.
Sophia Jones,
Terralyn McLaughlin, and
Ava Sanchez would all create scoring chances, but were unable to find paydirt.
Rochester would double its advantage in the second period, entering halftime up 2-0. Sophia Cuneo's third-period tally would round out the scoring, with the Yellowjackets cruising to a 3-0 win.
Autumn Kramer provided a stellar defensive effort, leading all players with two defensive saves.
