Oswego, NY: The SUNY Brockport women's tennis team is set to face Oswego State on Friday, September 5th at 4 p.m., before hosting Russell Sage in home opener action on Saturday at 1 pm.
Last Time Out: The Golden Eagles enter the match with momentum, following a dominant 6-1 season-opening victory over the Fredonia Blue Devils.

Brockport carried its momentum into singles, winning five of the six matches. Olivia Chiu was lights out in first singles, taking home a dominant shutout victory 6-0, 6-0. Cara Vasile picked up her second win of the day in second singles, fighting for a three-set victory after dropping the first set, 2-6, 7-5, 10-3. Leah Banes made a huge impact in her collegiate debut, picking up a dominant win in third singles with a 6-0, 6-1 showing. Erin McMichael also fought back for a three-set win, and Madison Ballone secured her win in fifth singles.
Empire 8 Honors: Olivia Raschiatore and Cara Vasile earned Empire 8 Women's Tennis Doubles Team of the Week honors for their strong start to the season. The pair picked up a dominant 6-1 win over their first doubles opponents from Fredonia.
Breaking the Ice: The season opener was particularly special for several Golden Eagles who earned their first collegiate wins. Freshman Leah Banes picked up her first wins in both doubles and singles action. Also making her mark was fellow freshman Gianna Masker, who secured her first doubles victory.
Scouting Oswego: Oswego State also enters the match on the heels of a season-opening victory, having shut out Alfred University 8-0. While the Lakers have had the upper hand in the rivalry in recent years, Brockport is determined to turn the tide. With the momentum from a strong season opener and the home-court advantage, the Golden Eagles are ready to change the narrative.
Scouting Russell Sage: The Gators will open the 2025 season against Plattsburgh on Friday before Saturday's match with the Golden Eagles. Sage is coming off a strong 8-6 2024-25 season, going 5-3 in conference play. Russell Sage and Brockport have met just once, with the Gators earning the win in 2024.
