Brockport, NY- The Brockport women's tennis team will head to Oneonta to take on Hartwick College on Saturday, September 13th, at 1 p.m. for an Empire 8 matchup.
Last Outing: The Golden Eagles are coming off a dominant 7-0 shutout victory over Russell Sage at home, which evened their record at 2-1 on the season. The win marked a strong bounce-back performance for Brockport after a tough loss in their previous match.
Brockport started the day strong, sweeping all three doubles matches to secure the first point. The first doubles pair of Olivia Raschiatore and Cara Vasile cruised to a 6-0 win, while the second team of Leah Banes and Olivia Chiu earned a 6-1 victory. Completing the sweep, Kathleen Rogers and Gianna Masker won their third doubles match, 6-0.
The momentum continued into singles play, with Brockport sweeping all six matches. Cara Vasile earned a 6-2, 6-3 victory in first singles, while freshman Leah Banes picked up a quick 6-0, 6-0 shutout in second singles. Olivia Chiu, Erin McMichael, and Gianna Masker also secured dominant wins, with Masker and McMichael each winning their matches 6-0, 6-0 in fourth and sixth singles, respectively. Madison Ballone added another point for the Green and Gold in fifth singles with a strong 6-0, 6-1 showing.
Scouting Hartwick: The Hawks currently hold a 3-0 overall record and are 1-0 in Empire 8 play. Hartwick is coming off a 5-2 victory over Geneseo in their last contest.
