Brockport, NY – Today, the men's and women's indoor track and field teams hosted the Brockport Saturday Night Rust Buster, where both teams dominated with a multitude of top finishes.
Men's Team –
Starting off the day strong in the mile was
Thomas Canestrari, taking sixth place with a time of 4:32.51.
Making it to the final round of the 60m hurdles was
Jeremy Chen, who placed second at a quick 8.61 seconds.
In the 400m race,
Ayden Grinion had a day, taking first place in just 50.35 seconds.
Michael Durski finished in third at 50.81 seconds, and
Malakye Moss took fourth in 51.34 seconds.
Derek Grimshaw showed out in the finals of the 60m dash with a first place finish on the board with an AARTFC qualifying time of 6.96 seconds.
Jesse Sweet also had a quick time of 7.16 seconds, good for fourth.
Taking silver in the 500m race was
Timothy Smith with a mark of 1:05.60.
In the 200m dash, Brockport came out on top with
Malakye Moss finishing in first at 22.77 seconds, and
Jeremy Chen and
Ayden Grinion tying for second at 23.12 seconds.
In the 800m,
Owen Arbocus crossed the line in just 1:56.96, good for a second place spot.
Taking fourth and fifth in the 3000 were
JJ Montemaro and Aidan Mayer, with Montemaro crossing the line in 8:56.03 and Mayer at 9:01.77.
In the high jump,
Cardin Chau took a strong first at 1.93m.
Gabriel Giannini dominated in the long jump at 7.15m.
Dennis Bobbitt took second at 7.04m, and
Collin Dicks finished in third at 6.75m.
In the triple jump,
Cameron Rynders had a strong second place at 12.51m,
Collin Dicks took third at 12.46m, and
Adam Curtis finished in fourth at 12.24m.
Gabriel Giannini also had a day in the pole vault with a fourth place spot from a 4.60m jump.
In the shotput,
Mitchell Ellsworth threw for 14.18m, good for second place, and Nicholas Wright finished with a 14.14m throw good for third, and
Hunter Richards had a 13.93m throw good for fourth.
Mitchell Ellsworth finished out the day on top with a first place finish from a 16.15m throw.
Women's Team –
Starting out the day strong for the women was Hailey Morrison finishing in fourth palce with a time of 19:47.86.
In the mile, Emily Leo finished on top with the gold at 5:26.42. Vanesssa Ramos took seventh with a mark of 5:31.58.
In the final round of the 60m hurdles, Lexi Rexford flew for second place at just 9.58 seconds. Leann Clay also had a strong race, taking fifth with a time of 10.54 seconds.
The Golden Eagles had a day in the 400m, with Courtney Bostic finishing in second at 1:01.84, Alexis Rodriguez in third at 1:01.91, and Monica Cammarota in fourth at 1:02.29.
Meghan Muscarella made a strong effort in the finals of the 60m dash to take second place at a quick 8.14 seconds.
Finishing in third and fourth in the 500m were Ariana Proper with a time of 1:23.97 and Isabel Laney at 1:27.95.
Courtney Bostic had another strong race in the 200m, crossing the line in 27.29 seconds, good for a fourth place spot on the board.
In the 800m, Peyton Long fought hard for second place at a time of 2:25.10. Camryn Jacob came in third at 2:28.01, and Lily Pink finished fifth at 2:28.46.
Salma Moumen showed out in the 3000m, taking second at 10:40.73.
The 4x400 team, consisting of Aaliyah Wright, Vanessa Ramos, Isabel Laney, and Ariana Proper, had a hard-fought race to take first, finishing with a time of 4:19.93.
In the high jump, Tessa Patchen jumped for 1.48m to achieve a third place spot.
Meghan Muscarella jumped for 5.42m in the long jump, good for second place.
In the triple jump, Allie Wojciechowski took first with a 10.92m jump, Maysie Davis finished in third at 10,54m, and Sasha Schramm took fourth at 10.35m.
Trinity Dees had a day in the shotput, finishing in second place from a 12.14m throw.
Finishing out the day strong in the weight throw was Katrina Chandler with a first place finish from a 14.47m throw, Bella Rivera taking second at 14.23m, and Rhian Crowley in fourth at 13.94m.
