Brockport, NY – Following a standout weekend at the SUNYAC Championships, the Empire 8 announced Tyler Rossini as the conference's Wrestler of the Week. 

Over the weekend, the Golden Eagles hosted the SUNYAC Championships, where they fought hard for a first-place finish out of nine schools. At 157, Rossini worked his way through five wins to earn first place in his division, contributing 24 points to the team's victory. 

In the first two rounds, Rossini pinned his way through, taking the victories 42 seconds and 1:22 into the matches. Rossini added another pin in the quarterfinals in 2:26, and a win by a 12-5 decision in the semifinals. Rossini finished out the day as the 157lb division champion, following a strong win by fall 2:38 into the matchup over Colton Havens of Cortland. 

The Green and Gold will be back on the mats on Saturday, January 31^st, as they take on the WPI Quad Match against the University of Southern Maine, New England College, and Worcester Polytechnic Institute at 11am.
