Stats
Senior Day Recap: Brockport celebrated its seniors on the field before kickoff but flipped the switch once the game started. Coming out ready to take care of business, the Golden Eagles scored 42 points in the first half on the way to a dominant 56-0 win over Morrisville. The Golden Eagle defense was relentless, holding Morrisville to just 38 total yards of offense and three first downs the entire game.
The 56-point margin marks Brockport's second-largest margin of victory this season and the second-largest margin of victory against Morrisville in program history. With the win, Brockport improves to 6-1 overall and remains perfect in Empire 8 action at 4-0. The Golden Eagles are now on a 5-game win streak heading into another E8 matchup.
Chasing History: Earlier this season, Brockport Head Coach
Jason Mangone earned his 100
th career win against St. John Fisher. The 38-28 win in Courage Bowl XXI made him just the second coach in program history to reach the century mark. Now with 102 wins, Mangone is second all-time with only Rocco Salomone's 103 wins ahead of him. A win on Saturday will tie Mangone with Salomone for the record for most wins in a career in Brockport football history.
Back Receiving Votes: For the second time this season, the Brockport Golden Eagles were featured in the receiving votes category in the latest D3football.com Top 25 Poll. Making the list after a dominant week one win, a loss in week two dropped Brockport out of favor. Earning some of that back, the Golden Eagles are now riding the momentum of a 5-game win streak and have earned some votes once again. A rejuvenated offense and always feared Brockport defense has the team playing strong football heading into the road game at Alfred University this weekend.
