BROCKPORT, NY — The SUNY Brockport women's volleyball team enters the final week of the regular season looking to secure its spot in the Empire 8 Conference Tournament. The Golden Eagles kick off a busy three-game week on the road, traveling to face SUNY Geneseo on Tuesday, October 27th, at 6:00 PM. Brockport then returns home to the Jim and John Vlogianitis Gymnasium to host Alfred University for their Green and Gold Rush Game on Friday, October 30th, at 6:00 PM before wrapping up the regular season in Houghton, NY, against Houghton University on Saturday, October 31st, at 12:00 PM.

Last Week Recap

Brockport carries a two-game win streak into the final stretch, improving to 9-10 overall and 3-5 in Empire 8 play following a dominant 2-0 sweep last week.

On Senior Day, the Golden Eagles put on a stellar performance to sweep SUNY Poly 3-0 (25-13, 25-14, 25-9). Brockport hit a blistering .298 as a team and out-killed the Wildcats 34 to 13. Senior middle blocker Maddy Howell led the charge with a match-high 10 kills on a .529 hitting clip while adding a season-high seven total blocks. Kaylee Dickerson-Holly chipped in 11 kills (.409 clip), and senior setter Kaitlyn Jewett orchestrated the offense with 23 assists and four aces. Senior libero Elsie Logan anchored the back row with 16 digs.

Brockport kept the momentum rolling on Saturday with another 3-0 sweep (25-14, 25-12, 25-14) over Utica University. The Golden Eagles fired on all cylinders with a .315 team hitting percentage, paced by Dickerson-Holly's 10 kills. Ana Parella put on an efficient clinic at the net, hitting .556 with five kills, while Howell added five kills (.444 clip) to anchor the defensive front. Logan led the backline defense with 13 digs and four service aces.

Scouting Geneseo

The Knights enter Tuesday's matchup at 13-7 overall with a strong 7-1 mark in conference play. Riding a three-match win streak—most recently sweeping Utica and SUNY Poly—Geneseo boasts a perfect 5-0 home record that the Golden Eagles will look to disrupt. The all-time series is deadlocked at 16-16, with Brockport winning three of the last four meetings, including a sweep during the 2025 season.

Scouting Alfred

The Saxons stand at 12-15 overall and 6-3 in league play. Alfred enters Friday's contest on a four-match win streak in conference action, having dropped just three sets during that stretch and most recently defeating Hartwick 3-1. Brockport has historically owned the matchup, winning 13 of the last 14 meetings—including 12 straight prior to 2024—and defeating the Saxons 3-1 in 2025.

Scouting Houghton

The Highlanders sit at 11-14 overall with a 6-3 Empire 8 record. Houghton has won five of its last eight games, though they are coming off a 3-1 non-conference loss to Messiah University. Prior to hosting Brockport on Saturday, Houghton will travel to face Geneseo on Friday. The Golden Eagles have won five of the last six matchups against the Highlanders, securing a 3-0 sweep in 2025.

Up Next: Following the three-game week slate, Brockport will look to officially clinch its berth in the Empire 8 Conference Tournament, with the first round set to get underway on Saturday, November 7th.
