BROCKPORT, NY – The SUNY Brockport women's volleyball team earned its first Empire 8 conference win of the season on Friday evening, dominating Elmira College in a convincing 3-0 sweep (25-10, 25-8, 25-7) at the Jim & John Vlogianitis Gymnasium. With the victory, the Green and Gold improve to 7-7 overall and 1-2 in Empire 8 play.
Brockport controlled the match from start to finish, holding the visiting Soaring Eagles to a -.155 hitting percentage while committing zero reception errors across all three sets.
The Golden Eagles set the tone early in set one, hitting .280 with 11 kills to race to a 25-10 opening-frame win. Brockport stayed relentless in sets two and three, holding Elmira under double digits in both frames to close out the dominant sweep. The match featured just two tie scores and one lead change, both occurring in the final set.
Ellie Cusmano powered the offense with an efficient performance on the outside, putting down a match-high 11 kills on 23 swings with just one error for a blistering .435 hitting percentage.
Luba Butcher added six kills on a .308 clip, while
Kaylee Dickerson-Holly contributed four kills and anchored the backline defense with a game-high 15 digs.
At the net,
Maddy Howell was a defensive wall, registering seven total blocks (five solo) alongside two kills. Right side hitter
Ana Parella added three kills (.400 percentage) and a solo block.
Setters
Kaitlyn Jewett and
Ava Baty coordinated the offense with 13 and 8 assists, respectively. Jewett was lethal from the service line, tying a season-high eight service aces to keep Elmira off-balance all night. Libero

Grace Ippoliti added two aces and five digs in a complete team effort.
