Women's Lacrosse Hosts Ithaca to Open Up 2026 Season

Brockport, NY – The Brockport Women's Lacrosse team kicks off the 2026 season at home on Saturday, February 14thas they host Ithaca College at 1 pm. 

Scouting Ithaca – The Bombers finished up last season 14-7 overall and 7-3 in the Liberty League conference. The Golden Eagles traveled to Ithaca last year to open up the 2025 season, falling 11-3. Ithaca ended their season on a high note as the 2025 Women's Lacrosse Liberty League Champions. 

Looking Back At 2025 – Last season, the Green and Gold had a solid season, dominating in conference play to finish 9-9 overall and 7-2 in the squad's Empire 8 debut season. The Golden Eagles secured a spot in the postseason as the No.3 seed, making it to the semifinals after a dominating 16-2 first-round victory over No.6 Utica in the quarterfinal round. The team traveled to face Geneseo, where Brockport's season came to an end in a 13-9 hard-fought battle. 

Following the postseason, freshman Karaline McCarthy earned Empire 8 Rookie of the Year, with Alayna Foos, Christina Ross, Hailey Lewkovich, Sarah Kilburn, Journey Naab, and Arianna Reed all earning E8 All-Conference nods. Freshman Brookelyn Vicaretti was Brockport's recipient for E8 Sportswomen of the Year. 

Back for More – Coach Bryana Glasser returns for her fourth season with the Golden Eagles, looking to extend her excellent run. In her past three seasons, Glasser has led the squad to 27 wins overall and a total conference winning record of 20-7. Glasser will be joined on the sideline this season by Associate Head Coach Lyndsie Pratt and Assistant Coach Cassidy Burnash.

Players to Watch – Following a breakout freshman season, Karaline McCarthy is back to defend her title. Last season, McCarthy secured E8 Rookie of the Year and First Team All-Conference after she led the Golden Eagles with 31 assists and 93 draw controls, adding 23 ground balls and 10 caused turnovers. She added 34 goals for a team second-best 65 points. McCarthy also earned herself Empire 8 and
Region 2nd-Team honors following the standout season. 

As the backbone of the Brockport defense, Christina Ross is returning after starting all 18 games for the Green and Gold last season. Ross earned Empire 8 First Team All-Conference after posting career highs in ground balls with 18 and caused turnovers with 10. Ross added 29 ground balls and 13 caused turnovers in her second year with the Ladybros. 

Key Returners – Brockport is fortunate to return 15 other players from last season, including Maura Langdon, Hailey Lewkovich (Third Team All-Conference), Emily Schiffer, Kaeli McCarthy, Tristan Davis, Cate Peacock, Journey Naab (Third Team All-Conference), Olivia Magin, Maeve Kelleher, Mikayla Hisey, Payton Tyszka, Amanda Evans, Addison Kumiega, Brookelyn Vicaretti, and Arianna Reed (Third Team All-Conference). 

New Faces – The Golden Eagles are also excited to add six new freshman athletes to the roster consisting of Caitlin Mulvihill, Ciara Pogue, Madilyn Dykeman, Anna Lowe, Alivia Cross, and Marion Wheeler

The Golden Eagles will be on the road to face the University of Rochester on Wednesday, February 25th , at 4 pm, and RIT on Saturday, February 28th at 12 pm.
