Women's Lacrosse Takes on RIT on the Road

Brockport, NY – The women's lacrosse team is set to face RIT on the road on Saturday, February 28th at 12pm.

Home Opener Recap – Back on February 14th, the Ladybros hosted No.23 Ithaca where they fell 13-10 after a strong fight. 

Ithaca came out strong, putting the Bombers on the board with two unanswered goals to take the lead. Hailey Lewkovich would halt the run with a quick goal just two minutes after Ithaca's second, with the assist from Karaline McCarthy

Ithaca added two more goals to light up the scoreboard, until Kaeli McCarthy would net her first of the season from Karaline McCarthy, who added an unassisted goal of her own to cut the lead. 

The Green and Gold started the second quarter down 5-3 until Hailey Lewkovich opened the scoring book with the assist from Journey Naab. Ithaca would respond quickly, scoring two goals in the quarter to match Brockport's offensive production. Before the halftime break, Ciara Pogue would finish off the quarter with a quick goal from Karaline McCarthy

Coming back from the break, the Bombers would come in hot, putting up four unanswered goals, taking their lead to 11-5 over the Green and Gold. Brockport put up a fight, with the the McCarthy to Lewkovich connection making a return with two goals to start the fourth quarter. 

Emily Schiffer and Journey Naab would round out the scoring for Brockport, with Ciara Pogue adding an assist for Schiffer. The Golden Eagles would come up just short behind the Bombers who added two more goals, to take their 13-10 victory home. 

Scouting RIT – The RIT Tigers are currently undefeated in the 2026 season at 2-0. They finished up last season 11-6 overall and 6-3 in the conference, making it to the semifinal round of the Liberty League tournament. In 2025, the Golden Eagles took the 13-11 victory over the Tigers in their matchup. 

Up Next – The Ladybros will be back home next week as they host the University of Rochester on Wednesday, March 4th at 4pm. The squad will hit the road for a Saturday matchup on March 7th at Clarkson University at 12pm.
