BROCKPORT, NY – After a tough stretch on the road, the SUNY Brockport men's lacrosse team returns to A. Huntley Parker Jr. Field this weekend for more non-conference action. The Golden Eagles (0-5) are set to host No. 20 Clarkson University on Saturday, March 14th, with faceoff scheduled for 3 p.m.
Last Time Out
The Golden Eagles are looking to bounce back following a 14-6 road loss to Oswego State this past Wednesday. Brockport started with a spark, as
Hunter Riehlman found the back of the net just four seconds into the contest. The Green and Gold displayed grit in the first half, with
Daniel Wright netting two man-up goals to keep the score tight at 6-4 heading into the break.
However, a high-volume Lakers offense proved difficult to contain in the second half. Despite a hat trick from Riehlman and a resilient 15-save performance from goaltender
Jared Kulik, who faced 51 shots on the afternoon, Oswego pulled away in the final 30 minutes to secure the win.
Scouting the Golden Knights
No. 20 Clarkson arrives in Brockport sporting a perfect 4-0 record and plenty of momentum. The Golden Knights are coming off a dominant 22-6 victory over Plattsburgh, signaling an offense that is firing on all cylinders. Historically, Clarkson has held the upper hand in recent years. In their last meeting, the Golden Knights defended their home turf with a 17-6 victory over the Golden Eagles.
Up Next: Following Saturday's home contest, the Golden Eagles will travel to the USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, MD. They are scheduled to face off against Ithaca on Tuesday, March 17th, at 12 p.m.
