Men's Lacrosse Hosts Geneseo in E8 Clash

BROCKPORT, N.Y. — Fresh off its first victory of the season, the SUNY Brockport men's lacrosse team (1-7, 1-0 E8) returns to A. Huntley Parker Jr. Field on Wednesday, April 1. The Golden Eagles will host SUNY Geneseo (5-3, 2-0 E8) in a key Empire 8 matchup, with opening face-off scheduled for 4 p.m.

Last Time Out:
Brockport enters Wednesday's contest with momentum following a 10-7 victory over Hartwick in its Empire 8 opener last Saturday.

The Golden Eagles used a decisive third-quarter surge to overcome a halftime deficit, fueled by Daniel Stiles, who recorded a game-high seven points (4G, 3A). Defensively, Brockport was anchored by Jared Kulik, who made 15 saves, including several key stops in the fourth quarter as the Golden Eagles held Hartwick scoreless over the final 15 minutes. Michael Dowden (2G, 2A) and Cody Whittaker (11-of-18 face-offs) also played pivotal roles in securing the conference win.

Scouting the Knights:
Geneseo enters the matchup as one of the hottest teams in the Empire 8. After opening the season 1-3, the Knights have won four consecutive games, including a 10-9 victory over Oneonta in their most recent outing.

Brockport will look to snap a decade-long skid against its regional rival, with its last victory over Geneseo coming in 2016.

The Knights currently sit at 2-0 in Empire 8 play, with an additional conference win over Hartwick (11-6). Offensively, Geneseo is led by Ronnie Trebing and Ryan Trebing, who have combined for 35 goals this season. Ronnie leads the team with 29 points, while Ryan has added 24. At the face-off X, Jake Starkey has been a key contributor, winning over 62 percent of his attempts to provide consistent possession advantages.

Up Next:
Following Wednesday's contest, the Golden Eagles will remain at home to host SUNY Poly on Saturday, April 4, with a face-off scheduled for 1 p.m.
