Ladybros Look Forward to a Week on the Road

Brockport, NY – The Brockport women's lacrosse team prepares for a two-game road stretch this week, traveling to face St. John Fisher on Wednesday, April 15 at 4 p.m., followed by Russell Sage College on Friday, April 17 at 3 p.m. The Golden Eagles enter the week with an 8-4 overall record and a 4-1 mark in Empire 8 play.

Brockport is coming off a strong 2-0 week at home, earning victories over Alfred (16-3) and Utica (9-4) following its Senior Day celebration.

Against Alfred, Karaline McCarthy led the way with a six-point performance, recording three goals and three assists. Hailey Lewkovich added three goals and one assist, while Journey Naab contributed three goals.

The Golden Eagles followed up with another solid performance against Utica, where Hailey Lewkovich paced the offense with four points (two goals, two assists). Karaline McCarthy recorded two goals and one assist, and Journey Naab added two goals.

National Rankings

Brockport currently ranks 70th nationally in NCAA Division III. The Golden Eagles are 18th in draw control percentage (.616) and 20th in save percentage (.507).

Empire 8 Rankings

Within the Empire 8, Brockport sits in second place behind St. John Fisher. The team leads the conference in save percentage (.507) and ranks second in shutouts per game.

Individually, Hailey Lewkovich leads the conference in goals per game (3.00) and ranks fourth in points per game (3.67). Karaline McCarthy is third in the Empire 8 in shots per game (6.25).

Scouting St. John Fisher

The Cardinals enter Wednesday's matchup with a 9-3 overall record and a perfect 5-0 mark in conference play. The teams split recent matchups, with Brockport earning a 12-9 victory in 2022 before St. John Fisher responded with an 18-3 win last season.

A Look at Sage

Russell Sage College holds a 1-6 overall record and is 1-4 in Empire 8 competition. Last season marked the first meeting between the programs, with Brockport earning a 21-3 victory.

Up Next

The following week marks the final stretch of Empire 8 regular-season play before the conference tournament. Brockport will host Nazareth University on Wednesday, April 22, at 4 p.m. for Professor Appreciation Day before traveling to Keuka College on Saturday, April 25, for a 12 p.m. start.
