Men’s Lacrosse Hosts SUNY Poly on Saturday

BROCKPORT, N.Y. — The SUNY Brockport men's lacrosse team returns to A. Huntley Parker Jr. Field on Saturday, April 4, for an Empire 8 matchup against SUNY Poly. The Golden Eagles (1-8, 1-1 E8) will look to return to the win column as they host the Wildcats, with opening faceoff scheduled for 1 p.m.

Last Time Out
Brockport enters Saturday's contest looking to rebound following a 14-4 loss to Geneseo on Wednesday. After being held scoreless through the middle quarters, the Golden Eagles showed late momentum by scoring three goals in the fourth quarter. Daniel Wright, Pierson Jacobs, and Brenden McClay each found the back of the net during the final 15 minutes, while Spencer Baugh recorded the team's lone goal of the first half.

Defensively, goalkeeper Jared Kulik continued his strong play, making 14 saves against a high-powered Geneseo offense. The performance marked his eighth consecutive game with double-digit saves. Brockport was efficient in the clearing game, finishing 17-for-19, but possession proved decisive as Geneseo controlled the faceoff battle and held a 35-20 advantage in ground balls.

Between the Pipes
Kulik has been a focal point for the Golden Eagles this season, facing the highest shot volume among Empire 8 goalkeepers. Through nine games, the junior leads the conference with 155 saves and a .572 save percentage, while ranking seventh nationally in Division III with 17.22 saves per game. As a unit, Brockport's goalkeeping corps, featuring Kulik, Matthew Cook, Vincent Savastano, and Luke L'Amoreaux, ranks sixth in the nation with 17.33 saves per game.

Scouting the Wildcats
SUNY Poly (5-4, 1-1 E8) enters the matchup following a 26-5 loss to No. 38 Nazareth. The Wildcats feature a potent offensive duo in Luke Taylor and Ryan Carroll, who have combined for 37 goals this season. The offense is orchestrated by Kai Hew, who leads the team with 43 points and 27 assists. Limiting Hew's vision and playmaking ability will be a key priority for the Brockport defense.

Brockport holds a 1-0 advantage in the all-time series, earning a 19-3 victory in the previous meeting on April 5 of last year.

Up Next
Following Saturday's contest, the Golden Eagles will travel to Alfred University for an Empire 8 matchup on Wednesday, April 8. Faceoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
