Women's Lacrosse Preps to Face SUNY Poly on the Road

BROCKPORT, N.Y. — The Brockport Golden Eagles women's lacrosse team returns to Empire 8 play this weekend, traveling to face the SUNY Poly Wildcats on Saturday, April 4, at 12 p.m.

Brockport enters the contest with a 5-4 overall record and a 1-1 mark in conference play, looking to build early momentum in the Empire 8 schedule.

Last Time Out

The Golden Eagles are coming off a 14-7 road loss to the Geneseo Knights on Wednesday. Despite the setback, Brockport saw strong individual performances, led by Alivia Cross, who recorded four goals. Hailey LewkovichTristan Davis, and Journey Naab each added a goal, while goalkeeper Arianna Reed totaled 10 saves.

Empire 8 Snapshot

Through the opening stretch of conference competition, Brockport ranks fifth in goals per game (8.67) and fourth in shots per game (23.67). The Golden Eagles also sit third in man-advantage goals per game (1.56), while ranking sixth in both points (12.33) and assists per game (3.67).

Individually, Lewkovich continues to pace the offense, ranking second in the conference with 2.89 goals per game. She also sits among the Empire 8 leaders in points (3.11 per game) and shots (6.11 per game). Her production has propelled her up the program's career record book, where she currently stands with 79 career goals.

Sophomore Karaline McCarthy has emerged as another key contributor, averaging 1.78 goals and 3.11 points per game. She ranks fourth in the conference in assists (1.33 per game) and second in draw controls (4.33 per game), showcasing her all-around impact.

Defensively, Reed has anchored the unit and earned two Empire 8 Defensive Player of the Week honors this season. She leads the conference with a .507 save percentage, while also ranking among the top five in goals-against average (10.06) and saves per game (8.33).

Christina Ross and Caitlin Mulvihill have also been instrumental on the defensive end. Ross averages 2.78 draw controls per game, while Mulvihill ranks among the conference leaders with 1.63 caused turnovers per contest.

Scouting the Wildcats

SUNY Poly enters Saturday's matchup with a 2-6 overall record and a 1-1 mark in Empire 8 play following a challenging non-conference slate. Brockport will look to continue its recent success in the series after earning an 18-1 victory over the Wildcats last season.
