Women's Lacrosse Closes Out Regular Season with Dominant Win at Keuka

BROCKPORT, N.Y. — The SUNY Brockport women's lacrosse team concluded its regular season dominantly, earning a decisive 20–5 road victory over Keuka College on Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Golden Eagles secured a 7-2 conference record and the No. 3 seed heading into the Empire 8 Championship Tournament.

Brockport established control early, outscoring the Wolves 5-1 in the opening quarter. Hailey Lewkovich ignited the offense less than two minutes into the contest, setting the tone for the afternoon. Amanda Evans followed with a goal off a Lewkovich assist, and after Keuka briefly cut into the deficit, Emily Schiffer responded to extend the lead. Lewkovich added another tally, while Journey Naab capped the quarter with a late goal to give Brockport a four-goal advantage.

The Golden Eagles delivered their most decisive stretch in the second quarter, erupting for a 9-2 scoring run. Keuka opened the period with momentum, but Brockport quickly answered as Lewkovich converted on a feed from Evans. Tristan Davis capitalized on a free-position opportunity, and after another Keuka goal, Brockport seized complete control. Lewkovich added two more goals to her total, while Schiffer recorded a pair of goals off assists from Ciara Pogue. Defender Christina Ross contributed offensively with a goal, assisted by Alivia Cross, and Evans closed the half with another strike, sending Brockport into the break with a commanding lead.

Brockport maintained its intensity coming out of halftime, scoring twice within the opening three minutes of the third quarter. Payton Tyszka found the back of the net, followed by Davis' second goal of the game in transition. Keuka capitalized on a man-up opportunity for its lone goal of the period.

The Wolves opened the fourth quarter with a quick score, but Brockport responded with four unanswered goals to close out the contest. Pogue initiated the run, followed by a goal from Evans off an assist from Davis. Evans added another shortly after, this time finishing a pass from Lewkovich, before Ross recorded the final goal of the game to seal the 20-5 victory.

Lewkovich delivered a standout performance, totaling eight points on five goals and three assists. Evans added five points behind four goals and one assist, while Davis and Schiffer each recorded four points with three goals and one assist apiece. Ross contributed two goals in a strong two-way effort.

In goal, Arianna Reed and Marion Wheeler split time, with Reed earning the win. Brockport's defensive unit remained steady throughout, limiting Keuka's opportunities and maintaining control of possession.

With the regular season complete, the Golden Eagles turn their attention to postseason play. Brockport will host No. 6 Nazareth University in the opening round of the Empire 8 Championship on Tuesday, April 28, with first draw scheduled for 4 p.m.
