Brockport, N.Y. — The Empire 8 Conference formally announced its 2026 Women's Flag Football Championship All-Tournament Team on Tuesday, April 28, recognizing outstanding performances from the league's inaugural postseason. Following a historic championship run, SUNY Brockport led all programs with six All-Tournament selections, highlighted by senior quarterback Megan Gerber, who was named the Empire 8 Tournament Most Valuable Player.
The Golden Eagles' honorees were instrumental in a 47–18 semifinal victory over Hartwick College and a 36–31 championship triumph against Elmira College, securing the program's first conference title.
Megan Gerber — Tournament MVP, All-Tournament Team (Offense)
Gerber delivered a commanding performance throughout the tournament, accounting for nine total touchdowns across two contests. In the championship victory, she amassed 387 yards of total offense—rushing for 260 yards and one touchdown on 33 carries while completing passes for 127 yards and three touchdowns.
Over the two-game stretch, Gerber averaged 167 passing yards and 3.5 passing touchdowns per game, while adding 214 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown per contest. Her dynamic dual-threat capabilities and poise in critical moments proved central to Brockport's championship success.
Trelani Harper — All-Tournament Team (Offense)
Sophomore tight end Trelani Harper emerged as Gerber's primary receiving target, totaling 12 receptions for 151 yards and three touchdowns. Harper recorded 123 receiving yards on eight catches in the semifinal win over Hartwick, including a 34-yard touchdown, and added a touchdown reception in the championship, establishing herself as a consistent red-zone threat.
Addy VanDewater — All-Tournament Team (Offense)
Freshman wide receiver Addy VanDewater made an immediate impact in her first collegiate postseason, finishing with 10 receptions for 115 yards and three touchdowns while averaging 15 yards per catch. She posted 80 receiving yards and two touchdowns in the semifinal and added a touchdown in the championship.
VanDewater also contributed defensively, recording 16 tackles and three interceptions across both games. Her interception return for a touchdown in the second quarter of the championship reduced the deficit to 12–6 and shifted momentum in Brockport's favor.
Lauren Cundra — All-Tournament Team (Defense)
Junior safety Lauren Cundra anchored the secondary with consistent coverage and playmaking ability. She recorded four tackles in each game and intercepted a pass in both the semifinal and the championship. Cundra concluded the tournament with five pass breakups, including three against Hartwick and two versus Elmira.
Graduate linebacker Cymbri Jefferson led the defensive unit with 12 total tackles. She registered a team-high nine tackles in the semifinal and added a sack and a tackle for loss in the championship, playing a key role in limiting Elmira's offensive production.
Ava Leyh — All-Tournament Team (Defense)
Sophomore linebacker Ava Leyh recorded eight tackles during the tournament, including two tackles for loss in the championship. She delivered a pivotal performance in the title game with two interceptions, helping secure the Golden Eagles' first Empire 8 championship.
