Women's Lacrosse Travels to No. 2 Geneseo for E8 Semifinals

Geneseo, NY – The No. 3 Brockport Golden Eagles women's lacrosse team will travel to face the No. 2 Geneseo Knights in the semifinal round of the Empire 8 Women's Lacrosse Championship on Thursday, April 30, at 4 p.m.

Quarterfinal Win

Brockport advanced to the semifinal round following the momentum of a dominant 13-5 Empire 8 Quarterfinal victory over Nazareth on home turf this past Tuesday. The Golden Eagles wasted no time establishing control, striking less than a minute into the contest as Ciara Pogue found the back of the net. Tristan Davis and Hailey Lewkovich added to the early surge, helping Brockport build a lead they would never relinquish.

The Golden Eagles entered the halftime break with an 8-3 lead following three consecutive second-quarter goals from Emily Schiffer, Lewkovich, and Amanda Evans. The Green and Gold defense was lights-out in the third quarter, holding Nazareth scoreless while Alivia Cross netted a pair of goals to extend the margin.

Hailey Lewkovich and Amanda Evans led the offensive effort with four points apiece on three goals and an assist, while Alivia Cross added a hat trick to the scoreboard. Tristan Davis fueled the attack with a goal and a team-high two assists, as Arianna Reed anchored the defense with three saves to secure the win.

The victory marked a milestone for the program, as the Golden Eagles have now secured a first-round playoff victory in every season since 2020.

Scouting the Knights

The No. 2 seeded Geneseo Knights received a bye from the first round of the Empire 8 Championship. They enter postseason play with a 10-7 overall record and an impressive 8-1 mark in conference competition.
