BROCKPORT, N.Y. — The SUNY Brockport men's lacrosse team hits the road this week for a pair of Empire 8 matchups, beginning with Alfred University on Wednesday, April 8, at 5 p.m. The Green and Gold will then travel to face Utica University on Saturday, April 11, with faceoff scheduled for 1 p.m.
Last Outing
The Golden Eagles (2-8, 2-1 Empire 8) delivered their most dominant offensive performance of the season this past Saturday, defeating the SUNY Poly Wildcats, 14-8. Brockport set several season highs in the win, including points (21), ground balls (36), and caused turnovers (14).
Michael Dowden led the charge with a game-high five goals, while
Brenden McClay recorded a career-high four goals.
Pierson Jacobs added a hat trick and an assist, and
Daniel Wright continued his steady production with two goals and two assists. Defensively,
Austin Thornhill scooped up eight ground balls, and
Jared Kulik earned the win in the cage with nine saves.

Goalkeeper
Jared Kulik has been a wall for the Golden Eagles this season, establishing himself as one of the premier shot-setters in the conference. Kulik currently leads the Empire 8 in total saves with 164. He also ranks second in the E8 in both save percentage ($56.9) and saves per game (16.4).
Scouting the Saxons
Alfred enters Wednesday's contest with a 6-4 overall record and a 2-1 mark in Empire 8 play. The Saxons are looking to bounce back after a 20-3 loss to No. 11 St. John Fisher. Brockport holds a slight 11-10 advantage in the all-time series, including wins in five of the last eight meetings. Last season, the Golden Eagles secured an 11-4 victory over the Saxons. Alfred's offense is paced by Cole Loewke, who leads the team in goals (41), assists (22), and points (63), followed by Brendan Riley with 41 points.
Scouting the Pioneers
Utica comes into the week with a 2-7 record and a 1-2 conference mark. Brockport has historically dominated this matchup, maintaining an undefeated 5-0 all-time record against Utica while averaging 11.8 goals per game. The last meeting between these two programs resulted in a narrow 10-9 victory for Brockport on April 12 of last year. Utica is led by Ryan Considine, who tops the roster in points (33), goals (17), and assists (16).
