Women's Lacrosse Posts Strong 16-3 Win Over Alfred

Brockport, NY – The Brockport Women's Lacrosse team continued its strong Empire 8 campaign with a commanding 16–3 victory over Alfred University on home turf. With the win, the Golden Eagles improve to 7–4 overall on the 2026 season and 3–1 in conference play.

Alfred opened the scoring with a free-position goal, but Brockport responded immediately as Karaline McCarthy evened the score within the same minute. The Saxons briefly regained the lead before McCarthy struck again, followed by a quick goal from Alivia Cross to give the Golden Eagles an advantage. Alfred capitalized in the final seconds of the first quarter, netting a goal with just three seconds remaining to tie the game at 3–3.

From that point forward, Brockport took complete control. The Golden Eagles shut down the Saxons' offense and erupted for seven unanswered goals in the second quarter. Hailey Lewkovich began the scoring surge off an assist from Cross. Journey Naab followed with a goal, and Emily Schiffer added another, also assisted by Cross. Naab recorded her second of the game on a feed from McCarthy, while Schiffer found the back of the net again off a pass from Tristan Davis. Naab completed a hat trick with another tally, and Lewkovich closed out the half with a goal assisted by McCarthy, giving Brockport a 10–3 lead at the break.

The second half mirrored the dominance of the second quarter, as Brockport maintained possession and control throughout. Cross opened the third quarter with an unassisted goal, and McCarthy followed shortly after. In the fourth quarter, Ciara Pogue scored twice with assists from Lewkovich and Amanda Evans. Evans then added a goal of her own, assisted by Schiffer. Lewkovich capped off the scoring to secure the 16–3 final.
