Brockport, NY - On Wednesday, July 29th it was announced that Women's Soccer Head Coach Mike Idland is departing SUNY Brockport after 10 years (9 seasons) at the helm. Coach Idland has been selected as the new Head Coach for the women's soccer program at Buffalo State.

During his time with Brockport, Idland left his mark by leading the Golden Eagles to national prominence and conference dominance in recent years. Amassing a 90-56-21 record over his tenure, Idland led Brockport to the NCAA Tournament in 2024 and guided the Green and Gold to Empire 8 regular-season championships in 2024 & 2025. He would mentor the most all-conference (10) and All-Region (3) players in program history, in addition to the first All-American in program history in 2024 (Jaylah Cossin).   
 

Leading Brockport to a SUNYAC Championship appearance in 2023, the squad's transition to the Empire 8 in 2024 would see Idland lead the program to a 20-1-1 conference record and back-to-back E8 Coaching Staff of the Year Awards between 2024 and 2025. With postseason appearances in seven of his nine seasons, Coach Idland leaves a legacy defined by excellence, championship standards, and the lasting impact he made on every student-athlete who wore the Green and Gold.
