Brockport, NY- The Brockport Women's Tennis team is set to open its Empire 8 conference slate at Houghton on September 11 at 4 p.m. The Golden Eagles will then welcome Oswego State for home opener action on Saturday (Sep 12th) at 1 pm.

th, in Fredonia. At No. 1 doubles,
Leah Banes and
Cara Vasile won 6-3.
Samantha Basovsky and
Mackenzie King followed with a commanding 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles, while
Gianna Masker and
Kathleen Rogers completed the doubles sweep at No. 3 with a 7-6, 7-3 victory. Last week's sweep marked consecutive 7-0 victories in the head-to-head series for Brockport, winning the last three head-to-head matchups against Fredonia.
Dominant Duo: Basovsky and King were the most dominant doubles pairing of the match, earning a 6–0 shutout at No. 2 doubles against Rylyn Tunstall and Allison Bartoszek. They then carried that dominance into singles, with King winning 6–2, 6–0 at No. 3 singles and Basovsky winning 6–2, 7–6 (7–1) at No. 4 singles. The freshman duo has made an immediate impact for the Green and Gold.
Scouting the Highlanders: Houghton enters Friday's Empire 8 matchup with a 0-3 overall record and 0-1 mark in conference play. Houghton opened the season with a 7-0 loss at Grove City before suffering back-to-back 7-0 defeats against Nazareth and Cortland. The Highlanders will look to turn things around on their home courts when they host Brockport on Friday. The Golden Eagles have fared well against the Highlanders, winning five of the last seven head-to-head matchups dating back to 2018.
Scouting Oswego: The Lakers hold a 1-2 record, bouncing back with a 7-0 win over Farmingdale at home after back-to-back 7-0 losses against RIT and Geneseo. The Golden Eagles will look to snap a five-match losing streak in the head-to-head series.
Brockport will enter the matchup with momentum after opening its 2026 season with a 7-0 sweep of Fredonia, winning all three doubles matches and all six singles contests. The Golden Eagles will look to carry that momentum into their first Empire 8 and home matches of the season.
