Brockport, NY - The women's soccer team tied Geneseo, 2-2 in an Empire 8 matchup. Brockport now goes to a 4-1-2 record and 1-0-1 in conference play. Geneseo moves to a 2-3-3 record with a 0-0-2 in conference gameplay.
Amelia Breton back at it again, wasting no time beginning the first half where she scored in the eighth minute to give the Golden Eagles an early 1-0 lead. Breton's goal was her eighth of the season, continuing her strong start to the 2026 season.
Geneseo responded quickly, tying the contest less than two minutes later when Ella Yartym scored in the ninth minute off an assist from Lauren DeMura.
Yartym struck again in the 21st minute, scoring her second goal of the night off an assist from Maggie Zito to give the Knights a 2-1 advantage heading into halftime.
The Golden Eagles came out of halftime looking to even the match and did just that in the 56th minute. Elyssa Barnhart found the back of the net to bring Brockport level to 2-2. The goal marked Barnhart's first of the season.
Neither team was able to break through again during the remainder of regulation, as the two teams settled for a 2-2 draw.
Geneseo controlled the shot totals, finishing with 15 shots, including 10 on goal, compared to 8 shots and 4 shots on goal for Brockport. Golden Eagles goalkeeper Cameryn Childs turned in a strong performance on the net, making eight saves over the full 90 minutes.
Breton led Brockport with three shots and one shot on goal, while Barnhart recorded two shots and one shot on goal. McKenna Slate added two shots, including one on target, while Dinah Gifford registered one shot on goal.
