BROCKPORT, N.Y. — The Brockport women's tennis team delivered a dominant performance at Fredonia State on Saturday, September 10th, sweeping all nine matches in doubles and singles competition.
Brockport opened the day with a clean sweep in doubles play.
At No. 1 doubles, Leah Banes and Cara Vasile earned a 6-3 victory. Samantha Basovsky and Mackenzie King followed with a commanding 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles, while Gianna Masker and Kathleen Rogers completed the doubles sweep at No. 3 with a 7-6, 7-3 victory.
The Golden Eagles continued their strong play in singles, winning all six matches.
Vasile battled back after dropping the opening set at No. 1 singles, winning 4-6, 6-2, 7-3 to secure the victory. Banes posted a straight-set 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 2 singles, while King cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 3.
Basovsky also picked up a straight-set win at No. 4 singles, taking the match 6-2, 7-6, 7-1. Masker followed with a 6-3, 6-2 victory at No. 5, and Katie Tabor capped the singles sweep with a 6-0, 6-2 triumph at No. 6.
With victories across every doubles and singles court, Brockport turned in a complete team performance, combining strong doubles play with six singles wins to finish the match undefeated.
The victory marked Brockport's third straight win over the Blue Devils, with the last two matches decided by a combined 14-0.
