Senior Tim Cook (Fairport, NY/Faiport) propelled the men’s lacrosse team into the playoffs with a game-winning goal against Geneseo last week and for his efforts, Cook has been named The College at Brockport Male Athlete of the Week.
Taking on the Blue Knights on Wednesday afternoon, Cook scored the game-winner 1:58 into the overtime period, boosting the Golden Eagles’ playoff chances. The game-winner was Cook’s third goal of the day, a career-high for the senior.
Cook added one goal and one assist in an 11-9 victory over Oneonta on Saturday to clinch the No. 3 seed in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) Tournament. Cook finished the regular season with 12 goals and five assists from a total of 17 points on the year.
With the No. 3 seed, the Golden Eagles will travel to No. 2 seed Plattsburgh on Wednesday afternoon. Game time is set for 4:00 pm.
