Senior men’s basketball player John Ivy (Rochester, NY/East) has been chosen as The College at Brockport Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending on February 9.

Ivy had an outstanding weekend for the Golden Eagles, capping things off as the new all-time leading scorer in school history.

On Friday, Ivy set a new career-high after scoring 40 points. He also broke the school record for free throws made in a game by sinking 17.

Saturday, Ivy helped Brockport sail past Potsdam by 28 points. He recorded 20 points, shooting 8-for-11 from the floor. Ivy broke Eddie Green’s and Dan Panaggio’s old all-time scoring record which stood at 1,601 with a three pointer to open up the second half of the game.

Ivy now has a total of 1,608 career points with six regular season games remaining.

Brockport returns to action on Tuesday evening for a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) matchup against Geneseo at 8 pm.
