Sophomore Bobby Ross (Grand Island, NY/Grand Island) scored twice in a 3-1 win over Geneseo in the only action of the week for the Men’s Soccer team and has been named the Brockport Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Oct. 9.
Ross, the reigning SUNYAC Rookie of the Year, scored in the 23rd minute with a one-timer to tie the score at 1-1 and then headed in a ball near the end of the first half to ignite a Brockport win.
The two goals move him to the top of the scoring list for the Golden Eagles (7-3-1) as he now has four goals on the season. Brockport, listed in the also receiving votes section of the latest national poll, has won four of the last five games and sports a 4-1 conference record, currently in second place in the SUNYAC standings.
