Junior Kasey Schreiner (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) registered six saves in 100 minutes of scoreless action against Houghton College Tuesday evening and The College at Brockport Field Hockey team scored a 4-2 decision in the penalty strokes to decide the game. The official final score is a 1-0 victory for the Golden Eagles.

Brockport (10-8) ended the regular season with the victory and now await an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) postseason bid for the Mid-Atlantic Tournament. The bids for that tournament will be handed out Monday.

After two scoreless halves of play and two more scoreless overtime periods, the two teams used a series of five penalty strokes to decide the winner. For Brockport, Gina Stephan (Clarence, NY/Clarence), Kelly-Ann Henry (Glen Head, NY/North Shore, Elizabeth Bradshaw (Rochester, NY/Eastridge) and Nicole Atkins (East Amherst, NY/Williamsville North) all scored on their penalty strokes. Schreiner came up with two saves against the Houghton (9-5) penalty strokes to help Brockport post the 4-2 advantage and the 1-0 victory in the game.
