The College at Brockport Field Hockey team dropped a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) contest to Cortland on Friday, falling to the Red Dragons 4-0. At 2-3 in the conference, the Golden Eagles still have a chance of making the SUNYAC Tournament with one game to play.

Cortland scored a goal late in the first half to pull ahead of Brockport and the Red Dragons carried that lead into the second half where they scored three goals in a 15 minute span. Cortland, currently in a first-place tie in the SUNYAC with Geneseo, outshot the Golden Eagles 23-3 on the day. Cortland also held a 15-1 advantage in penalty corners.

Senior goalie Kasey Schreiner (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) registered seven saves on the day for the Golden Eagles.

Brockport travels to Oswego for its final regular season game tomorrow. With a win over the Lakers (1-4), the Golden Eagles would improve to 3-3 in the conference and claim the fourth and final spot in the SUNYAC Tournament. Brockport owns the tiebreaker with Oneonta, the current fourth-place team in the standings. The Red Dragons finished up their regular season conference schedule with a loss to New Paltz on Friday. Brockport defeated Oneonta in a shootout on Oct. 5.

Game time for Brockport's match against Oswego is set for 1:00 pm.
