Box Score

The College at Brockport Field Hockey team dropped a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) contest to New Paltz on Saturday afternoon, falling 4-0 to the Hawks. Brockport's SUNYAC record now sits at 2-2 while the Hawks improve to 3-1.

Kasey Schreiner (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) made five saves in net for the Golden Eagles. The final save of the day for Schreiner was the senior's 400th career save. The game was the final home contest for six seniors- Jessica Nasuti (Stony Point, NY/North Rockland), Taryn Rossi (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas), Elizabeth Bradshaw (Rochester, NY/Eastridge), Ashley Elmes (Hopewell Junction, NY/John Jay), Jackie Massoni (Bay Shore, NY/Bay Shore) and Schreiner. It was also the final home game for Danielle Henck (Sauquoit Valley, NY/Sauquoit Valley), a junior who is graduating early.

The Golden Eagles gave up a first half goal in the 17th minute but Brockport was able to keep the Hawks scoreless for the remainder of the half. Both teams fired seven shots in the first 35 minutes, including four on net for each of the two teams. Brockport had plenty of opportunities in the first half as the team earned eight penalty corners opposed to just two for New Paltz.

Five minutes into the second half, New Paltz built its lead to two and took little time making it 3-0 as the Hawks scored another goal just three minutes later. Brockport was limited to just one shot on net in the second 35 minutes. New Paltz put home its fourth goal of the game with just over 10 minutes remaining.

New Paltz is in a first place tie in the SUNYAC with Oneonta, who suffered its first loss to the Golden Eagles on Friday. Brockport is currently in fifth place with its 2-2 record.

The Golden Eagles will take on Wells College on Oct. 11 before returning to SUNYAC action for their final two conference matchups. Brockport will take on Cortland on Oct. 19 and Oswego on Oct. 20.
