MEN'S BRACKET
The College at Brockport Men's Basketball team will host a first-round State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) playoff game at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 21 in the Jim and John Vlogianitis Gym. The Golden Eagles (13-12, 11-7) earned the fourth seed in the playoffs and will entertain the fifth-seeded Buffalo State Bengals (18-7, 11-7).
Brockport and Buffalo State met last season in the SUNYAC Championship as the Bengals edged the Golden Eagles with a 67-50 victory. Brockport returned this season and swept the Bengals in the two regular season meetings. Brockport won the first meeting 94-70 at home when the Bengals were ranked No. 21 in the country. On Feb. 11 Brockport pulled out a 79-70 victory at Buffalo State to take the season series.
Brockport clinched the fourth seed following a seven game stretch in which it won six of those contests. The Golden Eagles lone loss came to the second-seeded Cortland Red Dragons on Feb. 14. Brockport's run began with a pair of back-to-back wins against Oneonta and New Paltz on Feb. 3 and 4 at home. The Golden Eagles took to the road the following weekend and swept Fredonia and Buffalo State by an average margin of victory of 14 points. After the loss to Cortland, the Golden Eagles rebounded for consecutive victories over Plattsburgh and against Potsdam on Senior Day to close out the regular season. Brockport finished in a three-way tie with Geneseo and the Bengals, but the Knights owned the regular season tiebreaker over Brockport and the Golden Eagles held the tiebreaker over Buffalo State.
During the seven game stretch, Brockport has averaged 83.6 points per game and are currently second in the SUNYAC in points per game this season with an 81.3 average. The Bengals lead the conference with an 88.1 average. Seniors
Kyheem Green (Huntington Station, NY/Walt Whitman) and
