Field Hockey Closes Out Season

The Golden Eagles fell to Utica 7-1 in the final game of the 2013-14 season

Nickole Morgan (Mamaroneck, NY/Rye Neck) scored her second goal of the season, but The College at Brockport field hockey team finished off the 2013-14 campaign with a 7-1 loss on the road against Utica on Saturday afternoon.

Utica clicked on offense throughout the entire game, finishing on seven of their 15 shots on goal.

Brockport had a few shots during the first half, but the Utica goalkeeper was able to stop them and keep the Golden Eagles scoreless.

The Pioneers scored early and often, taking a 3-0 lead heading into halftime.

Utica added four more goals during the second period, peppering the Brockport goalkeepers with shots.

Morgan tallied the Golden Eagles on goal of the game with less than two minutes to play. Morgan collected a rebound off the goalkeeper's pads and knocked it into the back of the cage.

Utica held a 19-11 advantage in shots and a 12-8 advantage in penalty corners.

The Golden Eagles finish out the season with an overall record of 6-9 and a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) record of 2-4.
