Brockport Takes Down Fisher 3-0

The Golden Eagles defeated St. John Fisher for the second time this season

Brockport celebrated a second 3-0 win over St. John Fisher Friday night
Box Score Jess Senek (Ransomville, NY/Wilson) had eight kills and Amanda Riebe (Pleasant Valley, NY/Millbrook) led the team with 13 kills and also had six digs as The College at Brockport Volleyball team earned its sixth win of the season with a 3-0 victory against St. John Fisher on Friday evening in Rochester.

The Golden Eagles defeated the Cardinals 25-17, 27-25 and 25-19.

In set one, the Golden Eagles fell behind early. Jaime Snyder (Elmira, NY/Thomas Edison) scored to give Brockport its first lead at 4-3 and the Golden Eagles never looked back. Brockport had two runs of six points to gain control and finish on top.

The Golden Eagles once again had to close the gap in the second set. Falling behind 8-4, Brockport slowly closed to gap, scoring the final three points to earn the win.

In the final set of the night, Brockport was able to get on the board first. The Cardinals were able to make a small comeback early, but the Golden Eagles answered back.
Brockport outscored St. John Fisher 9-3 to finish out the set and the night.

Riebe continues to be a consistent piece of the Golden Eagle offense. Riebe recorded a team-high 13 kills and tallied six digs. Senek added eight kills, while Hannah Sawicki (Hamburg, NY/Frontier) finished with six.

On defense, Mary Cocking (Brockport, NY/Byron-Bergen) led the team with 13 digs. Jessica Greiner (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) finished the night with 10 digs and Liz Dates (Hamburg, NY/Hamburg) tallied nine.

The Golden Eagles return to action at St. John Fisher Saturday. Brockport will face Pitt-Bradford at 12:00 pm and then Oneonta at 2:00 pm.
