The College at Brockport field hockey team dropped a 4-0 decision on the road at New Paltz on Saturday afternoon.
The Golden Eagles struggled to get things going on offense. The Hawks were strong on defense throughout the entire game, limiting Brockport to only five shots total.
Madison Buckley (Liverpool, NY/Liverpool) took a strong shot early in the game, but it sailed wide left of the cage. Â
The Hawks scored their first goal of the game off of a corner at 7:51.
Jessica Blind (Webster, NY/Webster Thomas) had Brockport's only other shot of the half on a penalty corner, but the Hawks goalkeeper came up with the save.
New Paltz took a two goal lead heading into halftime after finishing on a scramble for the ball in front of the Golden Eagle goal.
Buckley took a quick shot in the beginning of the second half, but it was saved. The Golden Eagles only two other shots of the game were both blocked by defenders in front of the goalkeeper.
The Hawks extended their lead with a third goal at 46:55 and added the final goal of the game with just over two minutes to play.
New Paltz finished the game with a 26-5 advantage in shots and a 23-3 advantage in penalty corners.
