Sophomore Lindsay Farrell (Baldwinsville, NY/C.W. Baker) stopped 16 shots for The College at Brockport Field Hockey team Friday afternoon as the Golden Eagles dropped a 3-1 decision to New Paltz in a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) game on Bob Boozer Field at Eunice Kennedy Shriver Stadium in Brockport.

New Paltz (6-4 Overall, 2-1 SUNYAC) took an early lead with a goal in the first six minutes of action and added a late goal with under three minutes to play in the opening half to take a 2-0 lead into the halftime intermission.

Six minutes into the second half, the Hawks added to their lead with another goal and a 3-0 lead.

With seven minutes to play, freshman Amy Masciale (Selden, NY/Newfield) dribbled the bal into the arc and fired a shot past the New Paltz goalie to trim the lead to 3-1. Masciale had three of the four Brockport shots on the day.

Farrell made seven saves in the first half as Brockport was outshot 15-1 in the first 35 minutes and added another nine saves in the second half. The Hawks had a 17-2 advantage in penalty corners in the game including an 11-2 advantage in the first half.
